Frequently Asked Questions

  • My clinic hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm.

Please contact me to enquire about my current availability.

  • Clinical psychologists are highly trained and regulated mental health professionals. In the UK, they will have completed an undergraduate degree in psychology, followed by a three year Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. This doctoral training combines advanced study and research with extensive supervised clinical work within the NHS. Clinical psychologists are trained to assess and treat a wide range of mental health difficulties, across the lifespan, using multiple evidence based therapies.

In the UK, clinical psychologists must be registered with, and regulated by, the Health Care Professions Council. This means that they must meet strict professional, ethical and competency standards.

  • Confidentiality is a fundamental part of psychological therapy, and I take your privacy and trust very seriously.

Anything you share in therapy is kept confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone without your consent, except in specific circumstances where there is a legal or professional duty to do so.

Confidentiality may need to be broken if:

    • There is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else

    • There are safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult

    • Disclosure is required by law or ordered by a court

If confidentiality ever needs to be breached, this would usually be discussed with you beforehand wherever possible.

Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more information.

  • Online therapy works much like face-to-face therapy. Research suggests that it can be just as effective for many mental health concerns, while offering more flexibility and convenience.

Sessions take place over Cliniko, a professional platform that provides secure and confidential video calls. To get the most out of online sessions it is important that you have a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private space where you can speak openly, without distractions or interruptions.

  • The length of therapy varies from person to person and depends on your goals, the nature of your difficulties, and how therapy develops over time. Some people may find that a few sessions are enough, while others benefit from longer term work. This would be something we discuss in the assessment, and regularly review as therapy progresses.
