What to expect

The first session (assessment)

The initial session is an opportunity for us to build a shared understanding of what has brought you to therapy.

We will explore:

  • Your current concerns

  • Relevant personal history

  • Any previous experiences of therapy

  • What you hope to gain from therapy

You are very welcome to ask questions and get a sense of what it might be like to work together.

This session helps us decide whether the therapy I offer feels like the right fit for you.

Ongoing sessions

We will agree a plan for ongoing therapy. This may be established in the first session or over the first few sessions, depending on your needs.

  • Sessions are usually weekly and held at the same time

  • Some flexibility with appointment times can be offered

  • Therapy length and pace are tailored to your needs and goals

  • We regularly review progress and adjust focus as needed
